I beg to respectfully bring to your notice my position as a pensioner of the Hong Kong Police Force, having arrived in the Colony in 1893. Previous to that, I served 3 years and 10 months in the London Metropolitan Police Force. Owing to ill health, I had to resign from the Hong Kong Police Force in May 1914 and reached this country in July 1914, a few weeks before the War broke out. My pension is £112.6.8. per annum, and owing to the high cost of living, and all commodities, I find it very difficult to make ends meet; I therefore beg to respectfully ask that some increase be given to my small pension to enable me to exist.

Shortly after war broke out, I joined the Somersetshire Constabulary at Taunton as a special constable and am still a member of that Force, for which I receive no remuneration. I went before the Military Medical Board and was declared medically unfit.
